Reflective statement Stop motion

I decided my stop motion transformation when a friend of mine suggested me to transform a jellyfish into an ice-cream. At first, I thought it was a boring idea, but then I found it very easy and something that I could relate to, and so I sticked to that idea. As I turned the storyboard to the drawing animation, it changed a lot because the transformation changed pretty fast and so I didn't have enough pictures. Because of this, I had to add more ideas into the project and make it longer. Their were some challenges that I faced. One of them was trying to get more pictures possible, so the video could last longer. Also, another challenge was to work with plasticine since when you put it on paper it looked very dirty and let marks. In addition, trying to take a picture in every slight change of the drawing animation. Although I had a hard time making this animation happen, I liked the way it turned out because it is amazing how it look the pictures all together. On the other hand, if I would have the chance to redo my animation I would have change the beginning. I would have taken the pictures in every slight moment so the video could've last longer. After watching websites of careers in animation, I wouldn't consider that career for me since I am not very creative and artistic. Stop motion animation was a long and tough experience but at the same time, I had fun doing it.

Medium Selection

The medium I've selected are plasticine and normal paper. I chose plasticine because I think is an easy material to work with for what I am going to do. Also, I decided to choose normal paper because it's a very clean material and my transformation will look more realistic. I am going to be using the plasticine for the jellyfish and ice cream, while I would be using normal paper for the background since it will be looking cleaner and simpler. The biggest challenge with this medium would be making the form of every figure which in this case would be the jellyfish and the ice cream.

William Kentridge

To begin with, William Kentridge makes me feel kind of sad and depressive, since his high quality stop motion video is created by sad colors like: black and white and it's about how men suffer and go through a lot of pain. On the other hand, I would describe his work to a blind person as being a very detailed video since you can easily see what the video is about. I would also mention the black and white colors. More over, I would describe the hard work that men had to go through.

In my opinion, I think that the process for creating his work wasn't a very easy thing to do. He may be first had drawn something and then erased it,and then take the picture, so the viewers could easily see the changes that are going on. Besides, you can easily understand the story he is trying to tell thanks to the details he drew. Finally, you can tell that his project was a very high quality stop motion video.

Stop Motion Videos

Stop motion is a form of animation in which it tries to make an object appear to move. This type of animation technique brings the viewers a good feeling and a great taste of art. Artists that create these animations may be doing them in this manner in order to make them seem more artistic, sort of like a movies, and fantastic. Also, they may be creating them because is another original way of making a movie or video. In order to create this amazing project, there has to be several steps that people should follow. The first step is to start thinking on what are you going to be doing the project about. Then, make some sketches about it. After, start to take the pictures and then edit the video in a computer. Lastly, my favorite stop motion video was this one.

Water Pollution

Water pollution is the most serious environmental problem that Earth is facing today. Water covers about 70% of the Earth and is a very important resource that humans and the environment need it in order to support life. Although water is a very essential resource to life, human beings had been wasting it due to large amounts of materials that are thrown in the water.

Moreover, water pollution affects drinking water, lakes, rivers and oceans all over the world; therefore, it can harm human health and natural environment such as plants and animals. The main effects of water pollution on animals are that if they're living in unhealthy environment, they can die from harsh chemicals or trash that is emptied into large bodies of water like: dead fish, birds, dolphins, and many other animals often wind up on beaches, killed by pollutants in their habitat.This could lead to vanishing species, since more animals are dying every time someone throws a toxic substance to any kind of body of water.

Furthermore, some effects of water pollution are that it can reduce the quality of drinking water for humans and marine animals. Also, it can reduce the amount of sunlight penetrating the water, killing some organisms.Besides, the effects on humans can be dangerous too. People can get several diseases by eating seafood that has been poisoned.

As a final point, humans should definitely take care of all the water that is suited on Earth in order to prevent water pollution. People can avoid this by being careful what they throw in any body of water(lakes, rivers or oceans), not overuse pesticides or fertilizers because this can runoff into water. Finally, this serious problem may grow even more if people aren't careful of their water use.

Rotoball

After watching all the great Rotoball videos, I came up with a good idea for my Rotoball project. To being with, the background would be a simple park. Then, the ball is going to slowly come up from the leftside. By then, im going to be standing in the park holding a bottle of bubbles and when the ball comes up, It's going to go onto the bottle of bubbles. After that, I would going to be blowing a bubble ,which in this case is going to be the ball, like two times. Then, I'm going to grab the bubble, start stretching it, and finally I would turn the ball into a frizbee. After I turn the ball into a frizbee, the background would rapidly turn into a beach and a friend of mine will catch it. Then, we start to pass the frizbee to each other and start having fun. Finally, after 1 or 2 passes, I would grab it and stretch it and throw my ball to the right. This is my great idea for the Rotoball project.

This image is a good representation of my work because It shows my improvement from both Quarters, quarter 1 and two. In addition, you can see the improvements of Gross speed, Net speed and Accuracy. It shows that I did a great job and I improve, but It also shows that I failed a couple times.

Vacations

There were a lot of things I did this Winter Break. First, my uncle, aunt and cousins came up to visit and stayed like 2 weeks here in Vallarta. We went shopping and visited places such as San Sebastian. They were really excited on going to San Sebastian because they haven't visit it. Plus, some of my parents' friends came with us. It was so much fun because I haven't gone there since I was a little child. Besides that, they invited us to the beach and to the canopy. We enjoyed it a lot; specially because it was all the family there. Christmas celebration was coming and more family was coming up to visit us. It was really excited because for the first time I was going to meet a family related to my mom that I haven't met yet. My dad and his worker had good ideas for the food that they would cook for christmas. Finally, all the family spent a great time in the dinner. We ate a lot , we danced a lot and my brothers and my sister, sang and played the guitar. It was really cool watching them how much they enjoyed what they were doing. My parents brought me a lot of clothes because I didn't want anything that has to do with electronic. At last, The next day, we woke up at 1 pm. It was amazing how late we slept, but what really matter was that we spent a great time together and that we had so much fun.

On New years celebration we spent it in my house, as always, my dad's cooker did the all the food. Some family came up to celebrate with us and watch all the firewoks. It was amazing the view we had from our house, although the firerworks weren't from downtown, they were from all the hotels. We all have a pretty good time, although I went to sleep earlier. I will never forget this New year celebration. It was awesome.

Challenges

The whole class made a mash up with different sounds in audacity. We mixed a some different sounds like animals, hurricanes, people talking and much more. Some of the mash ups sounded very weird but others sounded really good such as Elena's. On the other hand, I had some challenges doing this amazing project. One of my challenges was to make all the sounds rhyme and finding specific sounds that I liked. Also, another challenge was to make all the mash-up last one minute because at the beginning I just had few sounds and was very short. More over, if I could change something if I could, I would change most everything because I did it till the last minute. So if I could change something it will be to organize my self and give time to finish my project. At last, I will give me more time to find better sounds for my mash-up because most of my sounds were really bad. In brief, in my opinion I could done it better because I did it really bad.

Mash-up

A good mash-up is the one that contains different types of songs (two or more) which can create the mash-up entirely unique and fun. A good mash-up has to contain songs that can be totally different but could make a good mix with them. Also, a good mash-up has to tell kind of like a story through the whole composition. On the other hand, what makes a bad mash-up is : not having at least two songs and those ones being boring. A good mash-up needs to be entertaining and fun ,so it'll be able to be played at events or parties and the people who hear it get satisfied with it.

In my opinion mash-up artists are true musicians. They made music from different songs that were created by true musicians and that's why it makes mash-up artists into real musicians. Their music is technically modernized as it was before. Also, they are true musicians because eventhough the songs have the same lyrics , the mash-up artists job is to get all those songs in a different order , get them mixed and finally, created a entirely different song. Artifact of the Future Robotic Snake

The process I went through on the Future Artifact project was kind of hard, but it was worth. First , I had to search in google for a cool snake, although it was kind of difficult because I already had one in mind. Then, I had to search for mechanical objects in order to make the robotic snake. It took me hours to find the objects that could fit in my snake. Right after that, I learned to make the images smaller and duplicate them; that made my life easier and less harder. In addition, I finished putting the mechanical parts into the snake so it would like a robotic snake. At last, I did the finally touches and added some explanation in it, so the people would know how would it be needed in a future.

In my opinion , I thought this artifact was really good and original. I had never seen a water animal in my life. It was creative and well done. The thing I like about this project was that she followed the tutorials and make it look like if that animal was made of water. The photoshop skill that she made in this project was brushing the image.

I really like this artifact. I don't think this project would be invented in a future , because it is something natural so , it might be created in a future naturally. If it exists in a future I would definetely think about buying it. It's awesome. I don't think it would change the person's life who created this artifact.

Artifact from the future

Im going to be creating a Robotic Snake. I chose to create that artifact because it would be really usuable in a future. Also, this robotic snake would be create with different skills, such as : interacting with different people, it will talk , and much more. My vision for this invention is that this robotic snake would be interacting with its owner, running from side to side and getting to perform different things.

Family Reunion

A year ago, my family planned to have a family reunion. My whole family was there. It was the first time we gather all my family counting my mom's and dad's family. We gathered to celebrate christmas. We all had a wonderful time and shared lots of adventures that they had been through long time ago. It was really fun because I had the opportunity to meet some of my family members that I didn't know yet. It was so much fun because all my family members were having such a great time.

Family frames

I choose 4 different types of frames. I classified the frames by generation. I choose a brown one for the first generation which is my two sisters & I because it seem really fancy and elegant. Then , I choose a flower one for the next generation because it was one of my favorites and it was really easy to put the heads on. In addition, I choose a black one for the third generation because there were fewer members of my family and so I didn't have an specific idea of how I wanted the frames to be. Finally , I choose a yellow one for the fourth generation because the frames were similar to the first generation.

Family tree

This tree means a lot to me just because the fact that i am going to be putting some pictures of all my family that I love the most . In fact it also, has a beautiful sunset and you can admired all the great view just by looking at the picture. Also, I chose this picture because I wanted a tree that could shine just as my beautiful family does. Besides that, there is something in this tree that I really like and it doesn't look like any other so that's what makes it more original.

"Joy"

First of all, what I just did in my summer vacations was that I went to Mexico , Santa Fe, and spent 3 weeks there. I spent a great time with my cousins and uncles , it was great because every day we went shopping to most of malls. Then, for my little sister's birthday , my dad gave her a ticket for going to see Disney on Ice with all of us. Besides that, My birthday was also coming so , my parents gave me some presents and a dinner with some of my friends. After that, we went to guadalajara and spent several weeks there with my brother who was going to start college there. Besides that, it was kind of hard saying goodbye because he wasn't going to have a lot of vacation time . Although at the same time we were proud of him. Finally, I got back to Vallarta and went to the beach most of the days.

If I had something to do to my self , definetely would be to travel along with my best friends or my older sister to a great Island or any place far away from Mexico. It would be absolutely great !. Spending all the time with persons that were always there supporting me anytime.Also, another thing I would do for my self would be going shopping in a place where there's the best stores in the world. I asure you it would be a dream came true. Besides that, another thing that I would like to do for myself would be buying a professional camera and get to go to Fiji. Then, I could take great pictures and then selling them. Finally, making it bussiness.

I have several parts of me that make me unique and special. One of the things that make me special is that even if I'm in a really bad mood I'm still being nice to others. There are sometimes were I'm just really sad .Although I try not to translate that mood to others. Also, a second thing that makes me special is that I'm really funny and sweet to all my friends and even strangers. Finally, I always try to do things that makes me special , sweet and entertaining.

Sick of Map Testing

Last week we finished MAP testing and I have to say that it went pretty good. I passed all the tests, although it was a tough time sitting like an hour just doing the test. It was my second time doing it and have to say that it is really frustrating because you don't know what they will ask you to do or resolved. Also, I don't like very much MAP testing , you have to deal with some hard questions they ask you and get a higher score than the one you got before. In addition, in my opinion I could done better than I did before because I have learned many things. Also, sometimes you don't get to finish the test and get a bit nervous , some people start guessing the answers and finally get a low score. On the other hand, there's some benefits that you get to spend while doing map testing like; wasting classes and if you finish earlier the test you can hear music or do homework from other classes.

PowerPoint

One day there was a person who tried to make a PowerPoint presentation explaining a type of disease in Civics class although we couldn't understand very well because of the Spelling mistakes. It was hard to understand it, there were misspelling mistakes that weren't pretty clear. Also, when you do a presentation you have to check it first. In Addition, this person wasn't reading every word or explaining every word from the presentation and that's a very important fact you should make in every slide. On the other hand, this person didn't put bullet points to explain each idea from the topic. Also, there were many slides which a lot information that couldn't be explain very well. Finally, we couldn't read pretty well the font. All in all, when you make a PowerPoint presentation you have to put all this requirements so the presentation won't be confusing.
